Tapestry Weaving Class

Tapestry Weaving Class

Our 5-day Tapestry Weaving Class is designed for students with basic weaving knowledge who would like to take their creative work to a new level. Students will gain experience planning their tapestry design, choosing the correct yarns for their design, and weaving with verticals, horizontals, and diagonals to create and take home their own finished piece.

In addition to instructor-led, hands-on learning, each student will also receive a classroom workbook with historical background, weaving terminology, and practical instructions to be used as a guide during the class and beyond.

  • All weaving equipment and instruction are included in the class price. Warp threads will be supplied on the looms. However, weft materials – the colored yarns you will be using to create your design – will need to be purchased on-site, with two different weights to choose from: rug (heavier weight) or blanket (lighter weight).

  • Students are welcome to browse the Tierra Wools yarn selection once they arrive on site. If you’d like to get an idea of the color selection beforehand, you can also visit the website of Shepherd’s Lamb, our local partner and yarn supplier. Click here to visit Shepherd’s Lamb.
