For me, it’s all about color. I often start with a pile of freshly dyed yarn in the middle of my studio floor, then I walk around it for a few days, maybe removing one color and adding another. Thanks to the famous clear light of Taos that has drawn artists here for years, the colors dance. I do my own dyeing outdoors over a wood fire and then spread yarn over a fence to dry, making a piece or art work itself.
My weaving are in private and corporate collections in 39 states and 3 foreign countries. I prefer to do abstract geometric designs and specialize in floor rugs and tapestries.
I live outside Taos, NM in an adobe house with my husband, also a weaver, 2 looms and a dog. We enjoy hiking and lively visits from our 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.
