| The
historic Los Ojos Village, known for its distinct blend of
Victorian and traditional adobe architecture and its community
effort to revitalize the local economy through the development
of agricultural based, culturally valued enterprises, has
much to offer visitors. Stroll down the main street, browse
in Tierra Wools' showroom & watch our weavers spin, dye
yarn & create works of art.
Watch the process of mat-making at Otra Vuelta, or wander
into Yellow Earth Gallery to view prints, photographs &
paintings.
Take the opportunity to step
into the tranquillity of San Jose Church, which is over
100 years old or visit the State Trout Hatchery, just down
the road. Other activities available in the Chama Valley
include the Cumbres-Toltec Scenic Railroad, Heron &
El Vado Lake State Parks, the Carson and Rio Grande National
Forests, with fishing, hunting, hiking and during winter,
skiing as well as snow mobiling. Just a 1/2 an hour to the
South, explore the spectacular Abiquíu area, home
of artist Georgia O'Keffe and the Ghost Ranch. The art colony
of Taos is just 1 1/2 hours to the East. See our detail
map.
