Problem solving and personal instructor attention to your weaving techniques & habits

Hand-Dyeing with Natural Dyes

Dye theory & history
Equipment, supplies and yarn preparation
Collecting & dyeing with native & exotic natural dyes including Cochineal, Madder & Bacterial Indigo vat dyes
Dyeing to specifications, making recipes
Overdyeing, use pure metal mordants, after baths, fade testing & record keeping.

Hand Spinning on the Rio Grande Wheel

Spinning theory, history & equipment
Picking fleece, fiber preparation & carding
Basic hand spinning techniques
Spinning on other wheels & with a drop spindle
