Sophia De Yapp

I am a native New Mexican, living in Chama with my husband Clarence and my daughter Savannah. Since I have been employed with Tierra Wools, I have had several management positions and am also an invested owner. I am presently the Weaving School Director and one of the weaving instructors. Although weaving has not been my first priority in the workplace, I love to weave when given the chance.

My motivation to weave comes from a long day of hand dyeing yarn. I like to stand back and admire all of the variation in the color combinations. The many hours that are put into completing a handwoven tapestry pay off by giving me a great sense of pride and satisfaction.
